Par'a withheld a smirk as she saw Ryvian approaching, his gaze clearly locked on Indivara. She wasn't sure which twin he was despite having played a large part in raising the boy, but was quickly informed at Indivara's yelping. She eyed Tryst somewhat suspiciously but was quickly distracted by a wayward ball and a shriek from Grith. When Ryvian said hello she waved, shooting him a wide smile. It was good for Grith to play with some of the older children who could actually take a whack or two from the dragon without coming to injury. Not to mention, they easily outsmarted her.
Grith was busy tossing and bouncing balls in every which way and didn't notice Ryvian's approach. Spinning she spotted him just as Indivara yelped, Grith shrieking with joy.Vee! She called, throwing a ball up in the air and headbutting it towards him. Her aim was less than okay, with it hurtling straight towards Indivara instead. Pink eyes wide she turned away before the ball could hit her, nosing another one along the ground. She ignored the girl's shout, though the ball hitting her shoulder did get her attention.
I didn't do it, Ra! Don't be a meany! She squealed indignantly, even though she was lying through her teeth. Tossing her nose in the air she turned and trotted away from Indivara, making it clear she was 'snubbing' the girl. A very young girl ran in front of Grith, her tiny arms reaching as high as they could as she made grabby hands and demanded "Up!". Grith halted, snuffling the little girl for a few moments before hooking her snout underneath her and holding her head as high as she could. The little girl shrieked and laughed, earning an eyeroll and a stern mental warning from Par'a not to hurt her. Grith pouted a little but did as she was told, gently placing the child on the ground.
"Mm, Grith is the same. Well, less generous more hopelessly forgetful. If you distract her enough you could probably steal the wings off her back." Par'a laughed. Shanith and Grith were similar, though Grith was quite obviously the more boisterous of the pair. She stored quite a bit of energy in her little musclebound form!
Unlike R'ana, Par'a had seen the incoming ball and leaned to the side to avoid it. She couldn't help but laugh at the tangle of limbs the fellow Greenrider had gotten herself into, Grith's enthusiasm and joy was effecting her quite strongly today. "Are you alright?" She asked between giggles. "Oh, two hours?" Par'a gave a sigh. "I only wish Grith took two hours to tire out. How easy life would be! I hope Shanith doesn't ever learn from Grith."
Grith saw the ball coming her way from Shanith and turned slightly before bouncing her back legs, hitting the ball with her rump and sending it flying towards Ryvian and Indivara. Leaping aloft she rose a few winglengths before watching the scene from above. Bugling, she swooped down to catch a ball between her balls, dropping it down on another area and repeating the maneuver twice more before landing. As she landed she gave another flying ball a solid thump with her tail, sending it out of the group and into some piles of trash.
"Grith!" Par'a exclaimed. "Watch it would you!" She frowned and shook her head at the tiny Green, who crooned an apology before diving back into the fray again. "Come on, before it blows all over the Weyr." Par'a gestured for R'ana to follow her as she jogged over to the collection of garbage now fluttering in the faint breeze.
"Who leaves bags of garbage lying about in the middle of the gather square anyway?" Par'a said, shaking her head in disapproval. Picking up a few pieces she noticed the Weyr's seal on one of the papers. Why they bothered to have one she'd never really understood, but it piqued her interest. She didn't look at it further, instead she crumpled it and pressed it into R'ana's palm.
"Take this." Her mirthful eyes stared at R'ana's, hoping she understood not to make a big deal of it, yet anyway. If there was one thing Par'a was good at, it was gossip. But she knew that you kept away from prying ears and eyes, particularly dragon eyes.
Tidying the rest of the garbage up she tied the top of the bags closed so another ball wouldn't cause a repeat. Gently she linked arms with R'ana and guided her to the other side of the games, away from Tyrrisath's sleeping form.
"Open it!" She whispered excitedly now that she deemed the coast clear.
