I'shan threw both arms around Seijin, holding the boy in a firm embrace for a couple long seconds before peeling away. Squee chirped with delight, tiny body trembling excitedly as he settled on the greenling's snout. The fire lizard's excitement intensified when Airath bespoke I'shan, provoking a gasp of delight from the bluerider.
"Oh, she spoke to me!" he said. Being spoken to by someone else's dragon was always an interesting experience, and I'shan always took it as a compliment. Of course, it helped when the comment actually was a compliment, as it was in this case! He put his hands on his knees and leaned forward. "I like you, too, little lady!" he purred to the dragonet. He smirked before reaching out, plucking Squee from his hard-earned perch and holding the writhing fire lizard as he stepped back.
"Go feed her! She looks like a hungry baby," I'shan encouraged, motioning for Seijin to hurry along. He hugged the boy once more before turning to prance over to the next candidate, one of the little brownriders.
Similar exchanges followed as I'shan greeted both of them. Soon thereafter, while waiting anxiously for the other half of the eggs to crack, the bluerider bounded back over to D'hys.
"Hah! I knew that kid would Impress green!" I'shan gloated. Seijin's green was no surprise, but the brownriders still had I'shan glowing with pride. It was the first time Ilveriath's searchees had ever yielded anything other than blue or green! How exciting, though I'shan was going to lose a couple marks on those Impressions. Oh well!
He clung to D'hys' arm. "So, how many are left? I still hold out on one bronze. If Tyrrisath can sire a gold, he can sire a bronze too, right? And we haven't had nearly enough born..."
Meanwhile, Squee had re-situated himself on I'shan's shoulder. He trilled excitedly, tail lashing as he looked around. So many new big brothers and sisters!
