Party? Parties were fun, and I'shan liked fun.
He'd considered chasing down his successful candidates immediately after the hatching. A couple candidates he was fond of had managed to Impress, and two of his own searchees had Impressed browns. Browns! It was a first for the bluepair, who previously had searched green and blueriders only. It was a delightful surprise, and while it wouldn't have mattered much to someone like B'jin who always seemed to land the golds and bronzes, it was a thrill for the already-excitable bluerider.
Shards, B'jin was probably counting his new brownrider as a failure for some reason, knowing his adorably snooty ass!
Ilveriath landed outside, quickly lowering his neck to allow I'shan to dismount. The dragon nosed I'shan affectionately and then retreated, returning to their hut to nap until his bonded needed a lift home.
I'shan burst through the door, his entrance accented by a loud screech from Squee. The fire lizard darted into the room. He called out to his fellow fire lizards, looping around the room one time before coming to an awkward sliding stop on the table, nearly colliding with Shit Head in the process. The little brown immediately flopped over on his back, paws up in the air in a joyous invitation to play.
"What's up?!" I'shan called out, grinning as he paraded himself through the door and looked around the room. It was nice to see so many familiar faces, though it was a shame to see so many disappointed. He could only imagine the sting of rejection, having Impressed his own blue at his very first hatching, but he sympathized nonetheless. On top of that, I'shan had always been something of an escapist. Parties were a good way to keep all kinds of sorrow at bay. It always worked, at least until morning.
The bluerider nodded pleasantly at the twins. He was rather fond of them, though he made a show of calling them by the correct names sometimes and incorrect names at other times; whether or not he actually KNEW the correct names or not was anyone'e guess, for it was well within plausibility for the excitable bluerider to be messing with them. "Ryv, Nyv! And miss Indivara," he said in cheerful greeting, winking to Indi after his polite nod to the twins.
