It came as no surprise to hear B’jin should be the first target of Erisi’s harassment and showing off of his pretty little gold. While not the only one afraid of and against the firelizards, B’jin had been the most vocal in his hatred when the eggs first appeared and the first clutch hatched. Valerian knew that within the last sevenday, the greenrider had been trying to accept the creatures – rather, he had at least made up with R’nd who had a clingy little blue so some sort of understanding had been reached. “You know R’nd’s likely going to be glued to B’jin’s side, especially after their dramatic break up.” He wasn’t trying to dissuade Erisi from his goal, simply stating that one of the people Erisi seemed to like on some level would no doubt be around to witness the ego-stroking while making people miserable. No doubt that would end up being a bonus for the weyrling that couldn’t get any proper play out of R’nd recently.
“What about I’shan?” Valerian asked about the man that had Stolen them both as they started cutting through Katila for the Gathering Square. The bluerider had his own firelizard as well but it wasn’t a gold, which seemed to be part of the point Erisi wanted to make as he harassed people he didn’t like. That would likely be another risky encounter given the way I’shan and Erisi got along but Valerian figured that was part of the reason he was tagging along. Sure, his two blues would help increase the panic in those that didn’t trust the tiny creatures but Valerian was also good at keeping Erisi under some sort of control and reining him in when he was close to going too far and landing himself in danger or more trouble than he wanted.
As they entered the Square, green eyes swept over the area, taking in the people milling about in groups or with their dragons. “I think I see a good first target,” Valerian gave a nod toward someone sitting not too far away from them.
