“Because you know which side as the better view,” to anyone else, that would have sounded exactly like it was; a comment about the view in the forest. They would be mostly correct but the slight inflictions of Valerian’s voice and hint of a smirk showed he was boosting his own ego by saying Erisi kept coming around the tree to see him. It was true, so why deny it? So while Erisi thought he owned the tree, Valerian felt he was an added perk that came with the tree that the green weyrling kept coming back to visit.
Quill shrieked in surprise at Harac’s response which upset Vex who bristled from Valerian’s lap. No one picked on Quill! Both blues chattered at each other and Harac a moment before Quill simply turned his back to the little gold and sat down like a prissy princess. If she thought she was too good for his friendship, than he would do the same to her! Vex found that amusing and calmed his hissy fit and jumped up to Valerian’s other shoulder to give his brother reassuring nuzzles. Valerian simply face-palmed and shook his head. “They’re excitable creatures, aren’t they?”
At the first mention of ‘fun’ Valerian did think sexually but he caught on almost immediately after that Erisi was plotting something else that more than likely aligned itself more with their writing unflattering songs about the dragonriders. He wasn’t too far off when Erisi revealed the plan was to parade the flits around and see who they could upset. Valerian didn’t care one way or the other what everyone else’s attitudes were towards the creatures since his opinion was the most important – along with Veeth’s. The sweet blue found them charming and liked to play with them, chasing them like he had chased small critters when he was a hatchling. Valerian had to admit, seeing all three of his blues sleeping together was one of the cutest things he’d ever seen. It was bordering on being too cute!
“That could be fun,” especially, Valerian decided, if they came across people they didn’t have a use for who were also jealous of their new friends. Erisi had a gold and Valerian had two; both of which seemed to have ended up being rare things from the initial nests that were found. The only one who could truly one-up them was Indivara with her blue and gold.
