Seijin having just come back from the baths was drying his hair. He had set a plate of food in his room before his bath and he was finally getting hungry. He had checked on the pots sitting by the bed before he had went to the baths and peeked at them again as he sat down on the cot. He smiled that hatching before that they saw at the lake was amazing all them fluttering about. He was sad though that many had been lost to predators and wonder really how many survived when they weren't found like we had found the eggs on the trip.
He heard a noise and glanced back at the pot. He swore the dirt around the egg moved so he moved closer to the pot and peered at it. Sure enough one of the eggs had a small crack in it. He watched fascinated as more cracks appeared in the shell. He dropped the towel on the corner of the cot and reached over to the plate a grabbed a bit of food.
He watched totally excited it was hatching. Now he got to see just what it was. Suddenly the cell practically exploded with pieces of shell flying in each direction as the tiny pale green busted out and rolled out of the shell. The little green looked around letting out a soft sound almost like a inquiring chirp feeling the hunger nauling at him. Seijin held out the food and the green dive-bombed it in hunger. She gobbled it up with a flurish as she climbed up seijin arm and perched right on his shoulder and rubbed her head against his cheek. She made a soft sound again as if asking for more which Seijin handed over with the soft chuckle. " Aren't you such a sweet adorable thing" He said softly.
He smiled as she ate this piece much more slowly finally filling her tiny little belly and curling her tail around his neck. He reached up and rubbed his finger along her tiny head and stroked down her back. " I think I'll call you Lana" He said softly to the tiny green as she curled around his neck and drifted off into sleep.
