Talian frowned, his smooth face falling into a displeased and concerned expression. He'd never been skilled at hiding his emotions. "I'm afraid that's not acceptable," he said softly, keeping his voice low and steady in an effort to soothe her. He'd been informed of her phobia. He'd never had to treat a person with such a pronounced phobia of physical contact, but he was fairly certain he could deal with it. It would be a challenge, something he was sorely lacking in his life these days!
The healer stepped forward slowly, discreetly raising both hands to show that he was unarmed and meant her no harm. "Please," he said gently, eyes widening in a kind appeal to the skittish young woman. "Come with me. I won't harm you, and I won't do anything without your permission." He didn't specify touching, if only for the sake of her privacy. He knew most of the infirmary staff would be aware of it, but he didn't want to call unneeded attention to it and embarrass or frighten her. He subtly motioned for a gawking nurse to move along. Shards, the staff here was incompetent...
"Come along. I'll get you some numbweed. You can apply it yourself," he coaxed. Then, in a moment of cunning, he reached into his pocket and produced a cinnamon stick. He'd been keeping them on hand lately, Apari's last gesture of kindness proving to him just how amazing they were to keep on his person. One never knew when one would need some cinnamon for some klah! He idly slid the stick in his mouth and smiled encouragingly.
