There, it was perfect.
Talian looked over his patient one last time, making sure he hadn't missed any minute details in his treatment. Wounds were tended, sedatives were administered, and blood was washed clean. The healer offered R'nd a cup of the same brew he'd used on both B'jin and I'shan, something to calm the nerves as well as soothe the skin.
"Your broken rib will mend on it's own, but you'll need to refrain from any strenuous activity while it heals," Talian explained as he held out a hand to help R'nd to bed. "I'll have a closer look at it tomorrow. For now, you need rest. You're fortunate to have escaped any real damage." He spoke with a light dusting of sympathy, much gentler than he'd ever addressed R'nd before. It could be attributed to the serious nature of the conversation, but just as much, it was some sort of delayed apology for the way he'd acted earlier. Tal didn't usually lose his temper, but compromising his examination room was a good way to do it!
"Come on. Lie down...I'll get B'jin somewhere comfortable too." He hadn't checked on B'jin yet, but he was sure the greenrider was loopy out of his mind by now. "...And that other bluerider will be cared for, too. Just relax." It felt awkward to speak in such a personable way to R'nd. Tal still wasn't sure if he liked the man, but all that really mattered was that he made B'jin happy. He wasn't a bad guy, and well...maybe it was time to let go. For now, he was a patient.
Tal laughed nervously, then returned to B'jin. 'Dad? Are you okay? I'm sorry I hit you," he said, reaching out to help the greenrider to his undoubtedly wobbly feet. "Let's find you a bed too, okay?"
