Appearance

Eyes: Deep, warm brown. Smallish, thickly lashed, and under extremely expressive eyebrows that are thin-ish, but dark.

Hair: A little past shoulder length, thick and silky, Cazelarias' hair is a pale brown that easily and regularly sun-bleaches to a more blonde tone. He has very little in the way of facial hair, and mostly shaves whatever after a couple of days; he has a great dislike for being hairy, and it impedes his sister's masquerading as him.

General Appearance: Cazelarias is a delicate flower of a man; he’s built of a small, lieth body with willowy lines and soft edges. His jawline is his strongest feature, and that leaves a lot to be desired. His lips are on the thin side, his nose slim and almost pointed, and his smallish ears are often hidden behind hair that is just long enough to be tied at the nape of his neck, but rarely is.

At a diminutive 5’10, Cazelarias is of a perfect height for his sister, and linked together with his overall softness, he is often mistaken for the girl. Delicate hands, with fine fingers and clean nails, Cazelarias is fiercely insistent to wearing gloves when he is forced to work leather; meanwhile, his complete lack of facial hair substance adds to the lack of testosterone fuelled masculinity that is generally expected of a Lord’s son.

Dressing Style: Cazelarias only partially plays up the part of being a dandy; the rest of it is completely him. He loves delicate and beautiful clothing, cleanliness, and looking fancy. That said, he still values comfort a great deal, so while all his clothing is tailored to suit his latest desires, it is always very important to him that he can wear those clothing all day and not feel at odds with it.

Loving colours, Cazelarias’ outfits are bright, eye catching, and elegant. He never looks like a rainbow puked on him, but he never dresses in dull colours, or bland designs unless absolutely required – events such as funerals and weddings have him toning down his attire, so as not to call undue attention upon himself (and, in his father’s scowling words, bring gossip raining down upon the family).

Personality

General Character Traits: Soft and gentle, in words and action, Cazelarias is greatly at odds with the reputation that has been built about him. Portrayed in gossip as a whorish playboy who makes ladies shriek his name and sigh in remembrance, Cazelarias has never slept with anyone, and certainly not a woman. Indeed, for all the things the gossips have to say bout him, Cazelarias is in fact very little of it. He is naturally polite, withdrawn and demure. He is incredibly modest and easy to fluster and quick to blush. He has a wide-eyed innocence about him that is usually written off as a ploy but is in fact very genuine.

Cazelarias is reserved, and it takes a lot to get him to open up, or even get a smile out of him. He has a serious nature, and often a serious expression. He takes everything in stride, and rolls with it and rarely lets anyone – even Cazan – know his true feelings on something – especially if those feelings are of a negative nature. He suffers great anxiety, especially when he is put into situations he didn’t expect or is unsure how to act in. He is no stranger to panic attacks, but one would be shocked to learn such a thing about him.

Slow to trust and quick to withdraw, Cazelarias has never had a close friend, and always felt he neither needed one nor wanted one. He speaks honestly with his sister when he feels the need, but otherwise has a tendency to bottle up his thoughts and emotions. If he can find the time, Cazelarias will sneak out in the middle of the night, climbing up a favourite tree (the only time he risks his precious hands) and whisper all his thoughts, fears and hopes up to the stars in the hopes that they will answer him.

Habits/Mannerisms: Cazelarias has a furrow between his brows that gets plenty of exercise, as he has a tendency to frown when thinking. He almost always has a pair of soft lambskin gloves on him, as Cazelarias hates getting his hands dirty or damaged. He has a habit of tugging on a small lock of hair by his cheek when anxious.

Opinions:
Threadfall Theory: Threadfall doesn’t really impact Cazelarias at this point in time; he doesn’t run his own hold, so the politics aren’t his to worry about, and as he isn’t a dragonrider, its not like he’s going to have to fight the stuff, either.
Stealing/Kidnapping: More politics that Cazelarias doesn’t care about. But honestly, if he was in that kind of position, well, he probably would have done the same thing. Then again, he’s quite a bit better and more intelligent than those feral jungle people, so he likely wouldn’t end up in that situation... Unless Cazan put him there, but that is a whole other nest of Wher eggs.
Weryrleader S'kef: He sounds like the usual folks that claw their way to the top, that have no right to be there. Cazelarias can appreciate the dedication – he uses his to avoid responsibility – but he can also appreciate that people like S’kef keep people like him from having to live up to the responsibility that’s thrust at them.
Firelizards: They look like time and responsibility that Cazelarias doesn’t want. Thanks.

Likes:
Beauty: Cazelarias has an eye for, and appreciation of, beautiful things. He loves beautiful clothing, beautiful art, beautiful people. Mostly, Cazelarias enjoys being surrounded by beauty.
Cazan: For all that she has the power - and an unnatural ability - to make his life miserable, Cazelarias adores his sister, and is lonely and anxious without her, though he dose his best not to ever let her know that, or anyone else know it, either.
Knowledge: Cazelarias loves to read, to learn, to explore -- but he likes to do those things without leaving the comfort of his home and his comfortable bed. Cazelarias has a deep love for reading, and will pour over anything he can get his hands on, from the educative texts their Harpers bring into classes, to sneaking into Father's office and reading everything from missives to accounting files. Mostly, Cazelarias spends his time in the family library, which is filled with old, and new, texts that his father has collected over the years.

Dislikes:
Hard Work: It isn't that Cazelarias is too good for it, but rather that it makes him feel dirty and icky. He hates being uncomfortable, and hard work tends to make one sweaty and smelly and icky and Cazelarias just doesn't have the stomach for all that. He has a habit of putting on airs of superiority when dirt, hard work is expected of him, as it has served him well through the years and generally gets him out of it, and someone less particular to do it. Second son privliges and all.
Leatherworking: Cazelarias is actually good at his craft, when he takes the time to do it. Unlike Cazan, who honed her skill through hard work, Cazelarias is naturally talented with leatherworking. But its dirty, difficult, and he has hurt his hands on more than one occasion - and Cazelarias hates cuts and blood! But it was what Father wanted, and so Cazelarias did it. At least until Cazan took to it and he was able to hide away for most of the day, buried in the depths of their personal library.
Playboy Reputation: Cazelarias has a reputation, one created by his sister as she poses as him, that has had Cazelarias out on more dates than there are hours in the day, and Cazelarias hates it. Not that he has ever let anyone know that; the playboy reputation keeps those that are looking to settle down away from him, and it seems to give his parents a weird sort of pleasure that he is 'sewing his oats' or some such nonsense. Cazelarias has never sewn any 'oats'. The fact that he has never slept with any of the women he's taken out on random dates has done nothing to stop them from out-competing one another with wild tales of their exotic sexual encounters with him. Cazelarias has been waiting for years to see who will break the dam first and admit to the deceit. As yet, he's still left in awe of his apparent skills and desirability between the sheets.

Strengths:
Acting: Cazelarias is an excellent actor. He has had years of practice when it comes to pretending he knows someone, said something, did something, went somewhere, etc. As often as not, Cazelarias has absolutely no idea what is going on, or what caused him to end up in Cazan's latest mess, but he has honed the ability to fall into step to a fine art. He is fantastic at leading questions to get the answers he wants, and bluffing his way through conversations on the fly.

Confused: Cazelarias has no idea who he is, because he has always been who he needs to be in any given circumstance. He's been acting for so long, he has no idea what it is like to just be himself. Every situation has him carefully analysing what it is that will be expected of him, how CC would act, what CC has already done and why, how, and what it means for him. Cazelarias has been living in CC's shadow for so long, he has never anticipated a life where he could be himself.

722, age 5: Cazelarias finds it amusing that his sister and he are able to confuse both friends and family, by his sister dressing up as him. They get into a lot of mischief, and while it gets Cazelarias into some trouble, he actually doesn’t mind, because he also learns how to manipulate the situations (and his sister) into being ‘him’ when punishment is being dealt.
723, age 6: Finds Cazan’s broken leg incredibly boring. She can’t pretend to be him – and he’s certainly not about to break his leg to cure that boredom. Education Details: Cazelarias is a crafter because Father made him take it up; not because he enjoys it or has any flowery ideas of becoming a great Master Crafter or whatnot. He doesn’t enjoy manual labour, even relatively lazy manual labour like leather working. While Cazelarias enjoys the scent of a finished product, he can’t stand the cuts and bruises he's prone to ending up with, and he hates dyes and inks and getting his hands dirty.

Cazelarias doesn’t remember how it came about that Cazan ended up taking his place in his classes, but it did start with her helping him with his assignments, and then doing them for him, and the next thing he knew, she was dressing up as him and going to class. Not that he minds; sometimes it causes some interesting quirks in both their days, but mostly it works for him. He has a faux education, and she has a faux set of knots. Perfect, right?

Cazelarias looked up with a blink at the sound of his name, turning to find the speaker and he tilted his head slightly, offering the smallest of smiles. “Hello,” he greeted, as if he had any idea who the man before him was. He hadn’t been the first person to call out to him, and Cazelarias knew that the greenrider – he spotted the knots after a subtle glance – wouldn’t be the last. While he had no name to go to the friendly face, Cazelarias had been playing the role of ‘Cazan’s Cazelarias’ (also known generically as ‘CC’) for too many years not to settle into the role and go along with the conversation. Something about wineskins and good work and a Hatching? Cazelarias blinked and his brows furrowed as he frowned.

Would he like to go? A small smile tilted one corner of Cazelarias’ lips, and he fell into step with the man as he agreed to go to the Hatching, listening to him babble and picking up the name in the process. It was funny, how regularly people threw their own name into conversations in one manner or another. It had gotten Cazelarias through more strange situation than he cared to admit. When he was presented to the green dragon, it took him a few moments to capture his breath, and Cazelarias was grateful that the rider pawned his awe off as normal behaviour and Cazelarias couldn’t determine if he was supposed to know the shiny creature or not. He opted on the side of caution and greeted the dragon with a kind of reserved respect. He wouldn’t put it past Cazan to be on first name basis with a dragon, but he also wouldn’t put it past her to have never even seen one up front if she was as busy as the man beside him implied with work orders.

Damn it, Cazan.

Cazelarias’ heart was in his throat as he was bundled up on the dragon, the rider trying to help verbally before getting far too handsy for Cazelarias’ taste in assisting him. Of course, to Cazelarias, even a brush of fingers in passing was ‘too handsy’ so a helpful boost was practically the greenrider groping him, as far as the young holder was concerned. Blushing and uncomfortably hot, Cazelarias obeyed orders to hold on, following instruction and squeezing his eyes shut in terror as the dragon sprang into the air, beating her wings to gain altitude and then – with far too little warning from the rider – they were in the darkest, coldest, most terrifying place Cazelarias had ever been in his life, and he sobbed in terror, managing to swallow the sound just before they reappeared above Fort Weyr. The greenrider was kind enough not to comment on the grip of terror Cazelarias had on him.

Almost as soon as he’d disembarked the dragon, Cazelarias had been swept up in the throngs of people who were milling around, rushing to get to their seats. He lost Je-something in the process, glancing anxiously over his shoulder to see where the greenrider had gone. Was that him? It was hard to tell, and he gave up, especially when he realised there were lots of green dragons milling around and he really hadn’t taken enough notice of the green the man had been on to know which one she was… which was a pity, because he had the impression of unrivalled beauty in his mind, but he couldn’t call it forward. His study of her had been too swift, too flooded with awe and the terror of the travel. Cazelarias sighed, and looked over – managing in the process to spot Cazan sitting in the stands, beside a blonde man who was talking to her – the her dressed as him. Cazelarias frowned for a moment, before sliding between a few more people and moving with the flow of the crowd in the other direction. He needed to be far from his sister, but not so far that he couldn’t see her.

In the end, Cazelarias made it a few rows above, and to the side of Cazan and her friend, sitting behind a broad man with a big bushy beard so that he wouldn’t easily be seen by anyone searching the crowd for ‘CC’, and settled in to watch. The gossip around him made his heart flutter with anxiety – deaths? Gore? Dead hatchlings? – he’d never heard such horrible things about a dragon’s birth, and wasn’t sure whether or not he should believe it. But really, he decided, the men who were chatting looked like they knew what they were talking about, and some subtle studying revealed Weyr colours in their knots – Ista and Telgar, if he wasn’t mistaken – but he also heard whispers about the eggs hatching early, and other interesting things. Leaning forward and planting his elbow on his knee so he was completely hidden behind the big man in front of him, Cazelarias listened with a vague expression to the gossip floating around him, trying to learn as much as he could from it.
