Even if B’jin was just teasing, Valerian kind of liked the comment about how many sticks he would use and started wondering if it would be possible to use literal sticks glued to paper or make a little structure of some sort. It was something to consider for later but for now, he’d just have to accept the help that was given thanks to his own big mouth asking for it. “Then we’ll arrange times for lessons later.” His schedule was pretty routine with classes and chores but Valerian would be nice and let B’jin figure out his own schedule and pick times later on.
“I wouldn’t mind being jobless but I’m not too keen on nicking myself even once more to achieve that goal,” Valerian was close to resting his forehead on the table in defeat. Why did they keep giving him chores that he wasn’t entirely skilled at? Worst of all, they seemed to enjoy attempting to ruin his hands and he rather liked the ability to pluck at his guitar, thank you very much! Thankfully, half way through the actual motion of lying down in defeat, B’jin asked about Veeth and Valerian paused to look up at the man who seemed so curious.
Valerian couldn’t keep the smile from appearing, something he did a bit more of since Veeth entered the picture but he loved his little blue and was always happy to hear others liked him or wanted to know how he was doing. He supposed it was a bit like a proud parent with their brat but he wouldn’t know and hoped to never find out. Teaching was one thing but at least with that he could always go home and get away from the brats and return to silence. “Veeth’s well. Growing at what I’m told is a good rate and he’s curious but not getting into trouble like some of the others are.” He was infinitely pleased at having not Impressed some of the dragonets running around. Even adorable Charath seemed like a handful.
Veeth was a little surprised at the laugh he had earned with his carefully selected words and was about to be insulted and maybe even embarrassed that such a wise and pretty green thought he was foolish when Larrikith gave him the nuzzle of reassurance. That was enough to cause him to relax again and listen to her response carefully. He supposed she had a point. Valerian was still young and learning just like him so it was natural to be a tad afraid of the unknown. Veeth was determined to help his silly human along by always being at his side and encouraging him to try new things. I still find it a little odd that he’d be worried about anything since B’jin’s always nice to us but I’ll help him learn!
