Rh'us was an interesting fellow. He was intense and often angry which left Ulliendis more alert when he was near him. But Rh'us was also lacking in some morals that everyone was apparently supposed to have which made him fun and kept the Candidate intrigued enough to keep poking at him and answering summons. Like now, as he tucked the small piece of paper into a pocket and let the firelizard know he would help before following her to the infirmary. He didn't need the escort but Bitty was an adorable thing that also nagged him a time or two before when he tried to interrupt Rh'us' work and he didn't want to be on the receiving end again for getting distracted or walking too slowly.
She disappeared just before reaching the goal and he suspected Bitty was updating Rh'us on his arrival, maybe letting the Healer make himself presentable. That was another facet of the man--he was attractive and they did flirt, but Ulliendis was still too on edge to do more than that. He knocked, slipped inside the office, shut the door, and gracefully moved across the small room to the chair he was told to sit in. See? He could follow orders when he wanted to and keep sassy comments to himself on top of that.
"That's correct. I'm always willing to be a replacement key," Ulliendis gave an innocent smile, going along with the excuse he did not believe for one second. A lost key? Really? Rh'us was not the sort of man to be that sloppy and disorganised but that didn't need to be said. What did he care what the Healer was up to? All right, he did care as he was a nosy bastard so perhaps it was better to say, did he really care who was being screwed over in their little adventure? Nope, not a bit. It was also nice to have someone appreciate his skills every so often and it had been a while since anyone needed a lock picked.
"By the way, good to see you out of the infir--well, out of Benden's infirmary at least and having some downtime. No poisonings to keep you busy today?" Orgailian had to find other ways to keep himself busy when he was in Benden thanks to the murder attempts on several people. Poison was such a tricky substance to work with, especially when experimenting with types and doses. People kept surviving (hooray for them) but it kept interesting Healers busy. Sometimes a dagger was the better way to go if cleanliness wasn't a priority.
