Chir sensed the 'no' before S'far even gave the reply based on his sigh. The freckled teen stamped down his disappointment fiercely as he listened to the Weyrleader carefully. It was...unnerving to hear that S'far was concerned those attacks in Benden could spread here. Which brought the argument to mind that it would be safer outside the Weyrs and in the wilds if such attacks were focused in places like this, but he also didn't want to point out the flaw there and give S'far more to worry about when he clearly had enough weight on his shoulders as it was. He'd have to find something else to occupy his free time.
Chir turned to see Urudith approach once more and settle nearby. Despite the dragon's distaste for him, the boy smiled to see him concerned enough for his rider to return to his side. It was a wholesome, kind action, and he wondered if Urudith knew the significance of it. He must, surely. Small things were really the big things.
The boy nodded again to S'far when he requested he stay at least until K'dar returned. Chir had since learned K'dar's importance to the Weyr since meeting him, and he could see the strain his attack was causing. Hoping to offer some comfort, no matter how small, the boy stepped forward to set a hand along S'far's forearm. Of course, K'dar was coming home soon. He'd be right as rain before they all knew it!
