Could he feel things? He hadn’t thought about that given everything else that had been going on at the time. But as he shoved the bucket away and wiped his mouth on a small towel left for such purposes, Orgailian considered it now. He went back to the memory for the hundredth time but focused on himself instead of what he heard and saw through dry eyes. He never blinked. His gaze had become fairly unfocused during that time as well since he could only stare in one spot. He just happened to be lucky to face the way he did when he fell. But what did he feel? The floor was hard and cool beneath him and his left foot had hooked awkwardly on the chair and stayed there, leaving it bent at an uncomfortable position. There had been pain from that but more when the Healers started to untangle and move him. He was fairly certain his right arm had fallen asleep from lying on it as well.
“Yes,” he finally answered, probably making it seem like he had fallen asleep with how long it took. Now that his mind was mostly back in the infirmary again, Orgailian grabbed the small cup of water left on the table near him. It didn’t hold much since he ended up wearing more than he drank otherwise but he managed to get down two sips before giving up. Still hurt going down and he didn’t want anything else coming up again so soon.
He watched K’dar watch over Zoremet. That was a proper older brother and K’dar wasn’t even related to them. He wouldn’t have been caught unaware and he wouldn’t have let a little brother get so viciously attacked either. Had he even heard the attacker approaching or did he assume it was his brother? Zory wouldn’t have even been there if it wasn’t for him. What if it was just supposed to be him? Was there someone he had especially pissed off lately?
The thoughts, the talking, and the vomiting was taking their toll on him again and Orgailian shut his eyes once more. It took some time again before he found the strength to whisper, “I’m sorry, Zor,” before deciding sleep was better than pain.
