Well at least the boy didn't puke on Urudith. S'far got the dragon's straps removed and had him share the location of their camp with Tiberuth so he could take K'dar to go pack everything and collect the fish that had been left in the creek. With the campground handled for now, and Urudith freed of his straps to go swim, S'far helped Chir up and gave him a pat on the back. "There, there. Could be worse. Let's get you stitched up. Is this your first time in a Weyr?"
Ah right, the kid couldn't speak. "Can you write at all? No... of course." S'far sighed. It wasn't that surprising, but was still another frustrating barrier to communication. Ah well, at least there were other dragons around, some of whom... he grinned as he remembered Greenrider B'jin regularly communicated through his dragon. "I have an idea but first, the infirmary. Sew that they can stitch you up. You needle pick up the pace a bit, come on." He still offered a bit of support as he led the way into the caverns of the Weyr and straight to the infirmary.
S'far immediately flagged down a healer once they arrived and arranged to have someone work on proper stitching and numbweed to get Chir fixed up. Though of course then there were tricky questions to answer like where the boy had come from in the first place. S'far turned to Chir and asked, "Do you have any family that we should send a message to?" The shake of the boy's head at least let S'far know he didn't have to apologize to anyone for stealing their mute son. "Well that makes things much easier. You can probably stay with the candidates then, I have to talk with B'jin anyway."
He stepped away while the healers did their work just long enough to make sure K'dar was clear with what he had been tasked with, and also to send a letter to B'jin through a borrowed firelizard. One day someone would finally suggest he get one of his own, but until then he was fine with just commandeering them as needed. By the time he returned it looked like the healers were almost done with Chir. "Feeling a bit better there, sport? I know you lost your breakfast, but do you want to try eating more or no? I could use a bite."
