Urudith, having passed his judgement on the person and matter, was no longer even paying attention to the boy his rider had decided to save for some reason. He'd washed his own claws of the matter, he would carry S'far and his... cargo, then he would go have a nice long soak, and then he would demand the oiling and belly rubs that he so clearly deserved.
With a speculative grunt, S'far reached out to poke and prod at wounds, did his best to try slather on ointment and antiseptic and bind every cut he found as securely as he could. He glanced up and saw Chir glancing towards the great bronze beast sullenly. "Oh don't worry about Urudith. He's always been a bit grumpy, even when he was a hatchling." He smiled at the memory and added, "That was a long time ago though. I Impressed when I was... thirteen if I remember correctly. Lift up your shirt so I can rebandage that."
He gave a soft whistle as he saw the extent of the damage done by the wherry. "Seems you had a wherry bad day. It's a good thing I found you because you would not be getting anywhere on foot." S'far frowned as he cleaned it up with some antiseptic then slathered on some more ointment followed by extra bandages. He'd have to make sure everything was as insulated as possible for their trip back to the Weyr. Once he was done with that he went back to his tent to just grab his spare jacket, which he tossed Chir's way, and then Urudith's straps. "You put that on. You will want to be as warm as you possibly can for this trip. Once I get Urudith strapped up we'll be going."
Years of practice and his dragon's own eagerness to leave made the straps go on quickly, and after double checking that they were secure Eurudith crouched down lower to help as S'far got his passenger up and strapped in. While he was going to tolerate his added cargo, he purposefully turned his head away to avoid even looking at the boy. "Okay, just hang on to these, I need to hook you in with this strap," S'far said as he talked through everything he was doing. "These will keep you secure so you can't just fall off. Now, once we go between I'll need you to hold your breath, I'll warn you before that happens. It won't be long, but it will be unsettling if you've never been. Do not panic, Urudith and I will keep you safe. I'll be sending someone back to pack my camp and bring back that fish, don't worry."
S'far had always been a fan of ripping bandaids off quickly so once he got himself settled in and strapped behind the boy Urudith launched himself into the air, powerful wings swiftly carrying them up out of the clearing and above the scenery.Should I just fly home? It isn't that far. I'd rather he get stitches a bit sooner than that. Once the dragon had leveled out and was soaring, S'far gave Chir a tap on the shoulder. "Hold your breath!"
At least it was over quickly, though the cold stark emptiness of between had never bothered him in his youth, it had bothered him ever since his oldest son had been lost there in training. But in a blink of an eye it was over and they were soaring over Telgar Weyr, Urudith announcing their arrival to the watch dragon with a roar. Urudith very quickly landed in the bowl close to the entry of the infirmary and S'far undid his passenger's straps first before he undid his own. "Welcome to Telgar Weyr. Now let's get you to a healer."
