Jazz just sighed softly, cuddling I'shan, her eyes drifting shut slightly as her mind whirred silently. His easily spoken words of not being wanted shook her very core. How could someone say that so flippantly?! With a barely muffled whimper, she squeezed him tighter.
"You can't. Only HE can. And he'll probably be on his deathbed before he does it." She managed to speak although what anger had always lurked in the background of her voice was now replaced with resignation. She felt defeated, like the fire raging within her was unjustified and with its fuel gone had died away... leaving nothing but ash as a reminder of its existence.
"I'shan... you need to see your son." she spoke softly, her voice barely holding steady. He lives at the weyr... you can't avoid him forever. Plus he deserves to know you at very least right?" she gazed up at him. She wanted him to the relationship she never had. She wanted I'shan to glow when he spoke of his son, not attempt to wilt away.
