She entered the hatching cavern with the rest of her group, eyeing the eggs and already zeroing in on what she was going to touch. Definitely the gold and probably one or more others. She knew her father would frown hard at her if he knew she was touching more than just the gold, but really what could he do with her all the way at the weyr? Absolutely nothing. The idea of thumbing her nose at propriety brought a grin to her face and she reached reflexively for Cupcake on her shoulder and grimaced when she remembered that the firelizards had been barred from the sands. Ah well.
She moved forward, going for the gold egg first, and winked at Malvayth as she laid her palm against its warm side. Happy thoughts and all that was all she allowed in her mind. Or thought she did. Who knew what the dragonet would be able to rifle through as it burst into the scene with pomp and circumstance?
The Gold.
