She had been kidnapped by her brother earlier that morning in his latest attempt to get back to seeing each other with more frequency. Mylorah didn’t mind that at all as she had found his time as a weyrling in another Weyr to be a bit rough. But his latest idea was shopping, something she really didn’t see the appeal of. Gathers were fun since there was dancing and some foods she could try but she was never in need of anything for herself—though sometimes she found something that was perfect for a friend.
That morning had been no different but she was enjoying the time spent strolling around with K’dar and chatting about whatever came to mind. Too bad she couldn’t convince him to do all of that in Ista where it was a lot warmer. She’d had to wear thick leggings and a coat with her dress—and she had silently kicked herself for not going with pants after all. She always forgot exactly how much colder Telgar Hold was until she was there again for a sharp reminder. That was why she was on her way to get them some hot cocoa while K’dar browsed books. It was a small selection but Mylorah knew it would distract her brother for a while all the same and she wanted something to warm her up.
She was making her way to where she thought that vendor still was when a hand grabbed her. Thinking it was K’dar sneaking up on her she turned with a smile and jumped a little as a stranger stood there instead. It seemed to have been mistaken identity, however, and Mylorah returned to smiling, feeling a bit bad for the man who seemed a bit shaken, likely from embarrassment. “It’s lovely to meet you, Harper Gangleri. I’m Mylorah, a weyrbred Candidate based in Ista.” She thought about using the ridiculous title she and Tazikel came up with for her when he introduced her to some of the more obnoxious lords but that had the potential to come across as mocking the harper or making him further regret his mix up.
