Cazan had spent all morning and most of the rest of the day working on the pencil roll and matching case. They were made of thin supple leather, darkened with oils and leather conditioners but otherwise left in a more natural state. She didn't know Kor'is well enough to try to decorate it further, and despite feeling bad enough about the fight that she was making it in the first place, she wasn't sure she wanted to add anything more.
But what if he wants it to be prettier? He's an artist! Malvayth was delighted about the gift, hopeful that it meant maybe Cazan and Kor'is could be friends. She could spend more time with Taith then! The dragon's glee was enough to make her rider not completely dismiss the idea. Instead Caz sighed as she relented, "I'll offer to add some tooling to it if he wants."
Malvayth gave a small pleased chirp which Lady immediately imitated. Cazan reached up to stroke her dragon's neck, and soon after Lady hopped down from her high perch for some pets of her own. She indulged them both with some more affection before giving the roll and case another quick check for any imperfections. As much as she didn't want to care about what Kor'is would think about the gift, she wanted everything to be perfect to satisfy her own pride.
They're here! Malvayth announced as she spotted her brother and his rider. Hi, Taith! Cazan made a gift! Cazan waited until Kor'is had set up his cushion before she walked over, her gift in hand. "Hey," she said, hand raising in a small wave once she got closer. "I just wanted to apologize for the fight, so I made you something. You don't have to keep it of you don't want to." Cazan felt a bit foolish about the whole thing, especially when she remembered Mal's suggestion. But she already felt like she had said too much so she just started to turn and walk away once she set the items down. Malvayth added to Taith, If he wants it to be prettier Cazan can hammer and carve designs and pictures on it!
