Ah, well that was certainly a snag. Cazan had just assumed that Weyrs would be pretty similar to a Hold, but with more dragons. Not that she knew anything about dragons or dragonriders. Sure there were the stories of dragonmen kidnapping traders, but it had never happened to anyone she knew personally, always a friend of a friend's brother or someone else distant and far away enough that she never really thought (or cared if she was honest) about it too much. Oh and there was the talk that sexual deviance ran rampant in the Weyrs, which she was pretty sure was a gross exaggeration of the truth. Though as her new acquaintance continued to speak she found that there was one thing she got right at least. Boots and leathers were still needed.
That was enough to chase her momentary contemplative frown away. She would be fine with a work space she didn't have to share with a bunch of people. More than fine really. So far it sounded like there was potential for a less busy work area, not as much competition, a bunch of strangers who didn't know her brother so she could relax a bit more... there was definitely potential here.
The sudden grasp of her hands as Katiryn continued on caught her by surprise and brought her focus back to the conversation. "Oh you don't have to impose on your father for me. I was only planning on staying for about a month at most to look around and get a feel for the potential." But getting a tour did sound interesting, and though part of her thought it might lead to a bit more attention than she planned for she was curious enough to add with a warm smile, "Though I would be delighted if you showed me around."
