Appearance

Eyes: He has dark brown eyes that are slightly large, making him look young and surprised a lot of the time. His eyebrows are fairly thick.

Hair: Short black hair that tends to stick up. G'nen tries to keep it all going the same direction, and sometimes tries to slick it back, but the wind usually frustrates his efforts.

Height: 5'9"

General Appearance: G'nen likes to put on a cheerful face, both to put others at ease and because he is a generally cheerful person, and it has left a mark on his body in the form of premature lines. Laugh lines, crows feet, and some forehead wrinkles show G'nen's propensity for smiling and laughing , and sometimes seem at odds with the rest of his more youthful appearance.

He has a broad forehead and wide-set ears.

As a dragonrider, G'nen has the physical fitness most dragonriders have due to caring for and riding dragons. He also spent about half his life on the Southern Continent, where more hard labor was necessary, resulting in more muscle than he might otherwise have.

Dressing Style: As the son of the Weyrleaders G'nen always felt pressure to look the part, so he was careful about his appearance. While on the Southern Continent nice clothing was harder to come by, especially before the founding of Katila, but G'nen did his best to remain presentable whenever possible. He nearly cried in joy the first time he went to a textile market after the return North.

Pern has a high infant mortality rate. Keep this in mind. Most families will produce 4-6 children, of which maybe half will make it to adulthood. Most Pernese die between 50 and 70 if they hold ranking or 'cushy' positions in life. Low ranking peasants and the like are more inclined to die in their late 40's due to the harsher lifestyle they lived. Dragonriders average about 100 years, and have a slowed rate of aging. A LOT of women die in childbirth, especially with their first child, or if they are old and still falling pregnant. It is considered a sin for Hold and Hall women to abort, and even Weyr women are frowned upon, as all children are needed.
