"My brothers Gabrin and Jalazmar live up to the charming phrase of 'bored lord' and while I may give off that impression to some, I don't sit idle at home. I've been doing some studying of my own and know all about the way the Weyrs work now and how many goldriders there are... and that you are the next most senior after the three already holding Weyrwoman titles. Holders will prefer the experienced rider over the older and more proper woman that's barely out of class. Besides," Azrin paused, sipping his scotch and giving Casa a moment to think on what he had already explained while anticipating what else he had to say.
"Your act of being pretty with an empty head is exactly why they will consider you. They don't expect you to have ideas but they will expect you to do as you're told by their chosen Weyrleader when you're not off fucking your flavour of the moment." Sure, his plans involved using her but he had told Casa that up front and he knew her to be a lot more intelligent than most believed. Her act, likely to get out of as much work as possible, would in the end help her get the top position and he was going to be there to ensure their ideas aligned and help her in the art of convincing the Weyrleader everything was his idea or a good idea despite coming from Casa.
"We have time to worry about that later on. I promise you will love your new lessons and the way I plan on teaching these ones." Like the lessons that involved the herbs and even the histories of Holds, the new ones would be very hands on and involve sex as incentives. He supposed giving her some skills and siccing her on some lords was a bit of a bigger step up, Azrin knew she'd find her way in the end.
"You only need to trust me," Azrin grinned and knew she didn't; at least not entirely. It was wise of her and he was a bit proud that the naive girl in the herb shop had wizened up a bit from being around him and any other experiences she wound up in at the Weyr. "At least as much as you did before, perhaps a bit more so my fragile ego won't shatter just yet. Just trust that I will share my knowledge with you and ensure that you are prepared for any situation."
He paused again, an idea striking him. "Would a dragon lie detector test make you feel better? I trust Thallyath to be an impartial judge and invite her to snoop around my head if you'd like. You can even ask me questions while she does." He knew enough to know he likely wouldn't be able to block out every thought or horrible deed he'd done in his life but Azrin was convinced he could mask the worst of it and try not to think about certain things. He was also good at lying and spinning the truth enough to make it seem like his version was the correct one. Could he fool a dragon? Maybe not but he'd just have to answer with as much truth as he dared... assuming Casa wanted to ask questions and why wouldn't she? This was the only time she was guaranteed some sort of truth.
