While the past two weeks had been extremely busy, and he was decently sure he’d sleepwalked through the first one, Kitt had been missing J’shom. Things had been such a mess between the Touching and then Impressing, and it felt like it had been an eternity since he’d been around the greenrider. He had been so close to admitting his feelings the other day, but the harper had been so stubbornly… oblivious. It was disheartening, but he still had a few aces up his sleeve. All of which hinged around actually seeing him, and he’d been annoyingly absent.
Speaking of! “Come on in!” He called through the door, halfway through oiling Erebuth. The blue was happily soaking up the attention and barely noticed the door opening or a stranger stepping in till Kitt’s hands suddenly stopped. Disgruntled, Erebuth blinked open one eye and grumbled, burrowing his head under Kitt’s arm. Don’t want company he whined, completely unaware of projecting it. Loudly.
Kitt frowned, not thrilled with that being their first interaction. “Erebuth, this is my friend, J’shom. The one who taught me all those lovely songs you like. Don’t you want to meet him? He’s very nice.” He tickled his fingers at what he knew was a ticklish spot, making the little blue wiggle and poke his head back out with a draconic pout. “He’d probably help oil you if you asked nicely, since I help him with his Siolilth now and then.”
Erebuth looked at his rider who was clearly happy and not phased by this new person, then dubiously at J’shom and curled back up on Kitt’s lap, nudging his hand to begin again where he’d left off. Kitt shrugged apologetically and dipped the cloth in for more oil. “Two weeks I’ve been dying for you to meet him, and he cares more about being pampered. Sorry… Can you sit for a bit? He’s due for a nap again soon.” Am not he mumbled in his rumbly sleepy voice. “We’ll see.”
