“I’m pretty sure the Hall only seems that way to you because everyone sees a dragon approaching and rushes to look busy,” Vaera said with a giggle. It wasn’t entirely true, and there were always some people who rushed out to see the dragon, but a lot of Healers were relatively used to a bit of chaos, especially those who responded to emergencies, so it didn’t take too long for everyone to go back to their business.
She blushed when T’ryn took his jacket off and spread it on the ground for her to sit on. That was kind of him. Her dress would have survived, the ground wasn’t muddy or anything, but the gesture was nice. Vaera nodded, carefully sitting down on T’ryn’s jacket, trying very hard not to scuff it on the ground.
“I’ll stay a little while,” Vaera said, slowly leaning back until her back touched Syrendryth’s side. She was casually leaning against a dragon! Her! Leaning against a dragon! For no real reason! But his bulk created shade, and the spot where T’ryn had sat was completely out of the sun. If she really was dehydrated or overheated, sitting in the shade for a few minutes would be good for her. “Thank you,” she said, smiling at T’ryn.
