K’tir could literally have Casa any time he wanted her and had proven it over and over since their hook up in a shop. So unlike some of the riders that had started showing up in Ista for the Flight, he wasn’t entering it for his chance to fuck the petite pretty blonde because he was too shy or uncomfortable propositioning her solely for sex. He was doing it for Ghaeth. He didn’t think they’d ever win a gold Flight but his sweet boy tried every chance he could. He loved the golden ladies but had yet to show them on such a level. At least they liked napping in the sun with him and Ghaeth seemed to quite enjoy the sex his rider had with Casa so it wasn’t an entire loss.
Then again, Ghaeth was always leery of Thallyath. He didn’t like that the gold had forced her way into K’tir’s mind that day in the shop when Azrin roughly took Casa for the first time, but the sweet and timid brown only growled a bit and complained solely to K’tir. Thallyath intimidated Ghaeth, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing if the young gold pair was to ever rule a Weyr. She would need to be able to help control those under her and the Weyrleader. Given Ghaeth’s personality, K’tir knew they’d never even have a shot at being the second to a wing let alone the entire Weyr.
So when Thallyath finally rose, K’tir nudged Ghaeth into action. He could feel the dragon’s lust and need to try but also his hesitation. They both knew the Weyr was full of larger bronze dragons that also had wins under their belts and they both knew Thallyath was kind of a bitch that judged every dragon and likely wouldn’t be pleased with a brown winning her. She’s Casa’s dragon, Ghaeth. You need to show her what she likes. Once she has a taste of you, she’ll be begging for more. Go get her, boy.
Ghaeth hesitated a bit longer—it likely didn’t help that she had thrown her first kill at him. K’tir would have to punish Casa for her dragon’s unruly behaviour later and then again for making him give Ghaeth an extra bath that week. Yet, once Thallyath took off, Ghaeth found his courage and used some of his outrage at having a beast tossed at him to give chase. He had to prove he was more than just a lowly brown! K’tir was proud of his dragon as he made the familiar trek from his weyr to Casa’s. He felt they had a chance this time, despite the competition.
