“Oh,” F’drel said with a small frown. The Red Star. Despite being a dragonrider, he never really thought about it. Growing up, it wasn’t more than a legend that was brought up every once in a while to scare people. It had no impact on his life as a drudge in a Hold. Even now, it didn’t really mean a whole lot to him. No one seemed all that concerned about it, so F’drel hadn’t spared it a thought. “I’ve never looked for it,” he admitted, and glanced up at the sky, though F’drel had no idea where to even begin looking for the thing.
“That’s…that’s bad, right? If you can see it,” he asked, pretty sure that seeing the Red Star was not a good sign for Pern. Or for them, even more specifically. Fuck, he was too tired to contemplate this shit.
“Doesn’t matter just yet, anyway, and I bet regular stars are prettier to look at,” he said as he decided that was enough sky searching and dropped his head more solidly against R’dal and closed his eyes. “I’d offer to get you a pillow or something but I don’t want to get up, and I don’t want you to get up,” F’drel added, voice muffled from how his mouth was partially pressed against the bluerider, “so I hope you’re alright as is for napping.”
