Despite the early start, Mylorah was chipper and chatted with everyone around her as they made their way to the Sands. She almost felt like she was on her way to the actual Hatching with the early hour and the way she put her hair up in a neat bun to keep it out of the way, and more importantly, off her neck since it would be hot inside. The only thing missing was the ugly sack they had to wear as she currently wore one of her trademark sundresses. She had considered pants for the day but knew she'd only be touching the gold egg and then figured she'd go sit in the stands while waiting for everyone else to finish up, so she didn't expect to be crouching and kneeling in front of eggs all morning.
So colour her surprised when Indivara hinted she wouldn't stop any girls from visiting with other eggs. She shouldn't have been surprised, after all, Indivara was a bluerider so she obviously didn't have anything against women on fighting dragons. But Mylorah had expected her to follow the Weyrleader's rules to keep her new position safe. Maybe that was why there were pointed glances to his ledge and hints that if she didn't see it happen, she didn't know about it. Still, Mylorah didn't feel like pushing her own luck that day and casually lined up for the gold, letting nearly everyone else go before her. There were so many new faces and eager expressions that Mylorah wanted to make sure they got in there right away.
She spent her time in line watching the girls in front of her or the boys wandering around the entire clutch. Some of the boys had amazing reactions where they stumbled away and some even fell to the ground. She did her best to cover her giggles or look away but she knew she owed at least one boy an apology since he saw her. Overall, she felt the boys were having good reactions and loved how pensive some of them were. What did they see or feel? She'd try to ask later but it was pretty common to keep the experience private. Misharan, though, would likely share! She watched him at his second egg, waving when he glanced in her direction afterward.
She missed his third egg, if he even went to one, as the girl before her stepped up to the gold egg. Mylorah watched her, wondering how it was going, and couldn't read the girl's expression as she slowly walked away. Was this gold nice? Bossy? Rude? Sleeping? Well, she was about to find out as she stepped up, gave a little courtesy because she could, introduced herself, and placed her hand on the warm shell.
