Vessaelia frowned when she didn't feel an immediate connection. She knew she wasn't doing it wrong. Place hand on egg. Check. Wait for a response. Check? Well, she was waiting but normally there was something there. She closed her eyes to concentrate a bit more, trying to reach out and find the little female. Finally, sensing that perhaps she should give a bit of herself, maybe start up a conversation or show the best qualities she possessed, she felt a rush against her mind, causing her to gasp.
It was quite the intrusion! It felt like what she imagined a room would feel like when someone tore through it, tossing items every which way. Memories that were sweet and cherished from her childhood were brought forth and she smiled at them before they were tossed aside and she saw the way her brother looked at her, exasperated and finally thankful that she had been Searched and out of his hair. Some of her more questionable moments of Flight mothing or sneaking off to meet with someone rushed by, but they're quickly replaced by thoughts of A'dis and how she viewed the bronzerider and her desire to be a goldrider standing beside him.
She felt judged and not necessarily in a good way either. Was she not good enough for the dragonet? Vessaelia thought she had everything it took to be a goldrider. She was well-mannered, polite, knew when she should talk, and she thought she was rather pretty and would be a good example of a goldrider to show off to the Holds if needed. As the dragonet pulled away from her, clearly dismissed, she wondered if she was ready for this after all.
Frowning, Vessaelia took a step back from the egg, sharply turned on her heel, and silently marched away from the line of girls, Indivara, and the girl that had been before her. Unlike that other Candidate, Vessaelia didn't flop down onto the sand, but stood near the entrance. She wanted the fresh air but didn't want to leave the area just yet. She was kind of curious to see how the others reacted to the nosy gold; not that she wanted to talk about what she went through. She wasn't even sure what she went through yet.
The little gold had examined her life and desires so quickly and dismissed her just as fast! How could she get a true grasp of who she was? Vessaelia felt the urge to cry but held it in. She wanted to be as dignified and put together as Mulrissa currently exuded so she stood a bit taller once more and kept a chipper look about her as she did her best to focus on how the boys were doing. She could cry later when she was alone, maybe in the bath. Maybe A'dis wouldn't mind if she shared her worries with him.
