R'dal didn't take offense to the lack of replies, especially to his apology. He had some friends that weren't overly chatty and figured F'drel would fall into the same category. At least he got a nod so that meant he heard the words and probably even accepted them. He continued to smile at his good fortune, though the next berry he swiped was bitter which caused him to pull a face and then chuckle at how quickly his fortune turned. Not that it stopped him from trying one more and then sticking with the pastry.
"Awesome!" R'dal, as expected, was excited at F'drel agreeing to go to Katila for their excursion. "I haven't been back for a while myself so this will be fun. There's still people living there, too. Just in case you're worried it's abandoned with ghosts or something. The old Weyrleader D'ren runs things and a lot of old riders retired there." He'd only been back twice since the move North. Both times had been surreal. Everything seemed the same but also deeply changed. He wondered if that was because it lacked as much life as it used to. The memories of the landslide and the other tragic events never really hit him when he was there either, but R'dal knew that was why so many other people never returned. That, and a lot of people had been Stolen and didn't want to return, even if they ended up with a dragon from it.
"Anyway! We should leave when the sun rises to get the most out of our time and I need sleep or I'll be cranky all day." R'dal jumped to his feet, brushing the few crumbs from his lap as he did so. The pastry had been a good bed time snack and he didn't need more berries so he left them for his friend just as he had done with the dried ones of earlier.
"Kick Edath out any time you want. He'll find me. I happen to know which beds are currently vacant while everyone's camping," R'dal gave a little devious laugh as he plotted which one of his friend's was about to donate their bed to him and gave F'drel a wave as he headed for the door. "I'll see you in the morning!"
