Xyliah, smiling playfully, clicked her tongue against her teeth and gave Jalazmar an amused look. “There are not a lot of things that should come before great sex,” she responded playfully. She was sure there were some things that should happen first, but food and wine didn’t really strike her as the must-haves before getting laid. Not when getting laid was so much more fulfilling than eating. Not that eating didn’t have its place, of course! “She is,” she said softly, her eyebrows drawing together just slightly as Xyliah leaned up and across, pressing a kiss to Jalazmar’s lips.
He really was an amazing guy, and the more she got to know him, the more amazed she was by how lucky she’d been in their arranged marriage. He wasn’t old, or fat, or ugly – as his fears of her had been – but nor was he cruel or lazy. She enjoyed his humour and his conversation and, the serious one they had had moments before just proved to her once again how unbelievably lucky she was. How many Lords – forget that, how many men – would not only allow but encourage their wife to prevent pregnancy that would give him an heir? That he was prepared to let her decide when she was ready? Xyliah watched as he got out of bed and seemed to consider what to wear.
Wrapped up in her thoughts and the positive glee she was feeling about how amazing Jalazmar was, Xyliah slipped out of bed herself and crept up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind and nuzzling against the side of his neck, though their height difference caused her to stand on tip toes. “You are wonderful,” Xyliah said softly, kissing Jalazmar below the ear. “Thank you.” Letting her arms fall from around him – and without teasing, no less! – Xyliah gave Jalazmar a warm smile of adoration, before picking up her nightgown once more and slipping into it. She had a rather fancy dressing gown she could throw over the top. Besides, it wasn’t like they had visitors to entertain!
Just their staff, and they already did a wonderful job of entertaining them if Yanzi was to be believed. Which she was.
