When only a few eggs remained, Mylorah didn’t care if she Impressed or not; she just wanted to get off the Sands so she could go congratulate her friends and brother. Also, it was getting a bit unbearably hot and standing around for a few hours in the heat was starting to wear her down. When the last two babies started fighting but stopped when they Impressed, Mylorah gave a little happy clap as she watched another friend bond. In the end, she hadn’t found her own lifemate but so many people she knew or cared for had and that was just as amazing. A few hugs were given to those that didn’t Impress and she whispered encouraging words about the next clutch. With so many golds now, the clutches were happening more and more which removed some of the stress on the older Candidates since they didn’t have to worry about aging out before the next gold took to the skies.
They were being told to get off the Sands and Mylorah was happy to oblige. She quickly darted past some Candidates and where she saw A’tay and Madiquel oiling the sweet little bronze. Another hug was given with promises to chat more soon before she darted off again, not wanting to get caught up in the family she knew would want to see him. But instead of leaving all together, Mylorah spotted Siroll with his little monster and bit her lower lip. She counted him as a friend and really wanted to congratulate him as well since they hadn’t been standing near each other on the Sands to do so. But the brown was so intimidating that she couldn’t bring herself to move. All she could see was him on top of the girls and his callous words about them being weak and deserving it played in her head.
She almost turned on her heel to leave but wouldn’t that just be playing into the baby brown’s beliefs of women? True, she feared the dragonet but he had bonded to Siroll and he was kind under his gruff exterior and would do his best to keep his mate reigned in and keep her safe. She had never felt threatened with Siroll and that wasn’t going to start now because of a dragon.
With one step and then another, Mylorah was soon making her way to Siroll and stopped a few feet away from the pair. She knew dragonets weren’t fond of their riders having strong affectionate emotions for others in the early months and while she really wanted nothing more than to throw her arms around Siroll and hug him and kiss his cheek, she refrained.
“Hey, Siroll! Congratulations! I knew you’d make a great dragonrider and never doubted it.” She was nearly glowing from her smile and genuine happiness for the man and it took all her willpower to continue keeping her hands to herself. Her gaze, however, kept drifting to the beast beside him to make sure he wasn’t still hungry and about to lunge.
“Now I need to Impress gold so you can chase me one day,” she teased with a wink and light laugh.
