“Oh, she’s teaching you manners as well. Watch out, R’nya, no one’s going to recognise you soon,” of course that wasn’t true in any way. R’nya stood out too much, especially now that he was Weyrleader. But he also had known what manners were and would use polite words when needed. But to say them to a lowly brownrider? Now that was something rather new. The emphasis wasn’t lost on K’tir either and he just smiled at the irritation his presence was causing the bronzerider.
Was there anything else? Not really. It was a shame to let the visit end already but K’tir was satisfied. He saw R’nya and got to prod him a little. They had a fun friendship even if they didn’t really interact all that much and when they did, one of them always seemed annoyed and wishing he was anywhere else on the planet. With a sigh and a slight frown, K’tir shook his head, “no, I guess that’s it. I’ve seen for myself that you’re well and still full of your usual zest. I expect a letter or a visit from you in the near future, though. I’ll pop in again otherwise.”
K’tir turned to grab his bag and debated leaving his raunchy book behind. It’d be fun to receive a letter from R’nya expressing his anger over a certain book being spotted by his mate or an important visitor and having them assume it belonged to the Weyrleader. Unfortunately, it was a fun read and he was curious about how it’d end after the antics of the main character and scooped it up to stuff it back in his bag.
Given he had the height advantage on R’nya, K’tir swung back around and quickly leaned in to place a quick peck to the man’s cheek. With a chuckle, K’tir strode out of the office with a wave over his head. “See you around, R’nya!”
