One thing he was quickly learning was Jada loved to talk. Was that something she always enjoyed or did the shunning she received by Litir and him make her quiet and now that she was older, she was making up for lost time? Valerian would take some time later to sift through his memories from Harper Hall and try to bring up the younger girl he was now stuck with. At least she wasn’t irritating or stuffy liked a few people he had already crossed paths so for someone returning from his past, she was off to a good start. She just needed to stop eyeing his cheeks like that!
Quickly Valerian untangled himself from the hug and put a few feet of distance between them again so he could answer her questions without worrying about a pinch slurring his speech. “I do still compose so a large stack of parchment would be appreciated.” She didn’t need to know about his interest in documenting various aspects of Katila right now since he did remember her curiosity and she’d likely be all over the idea, wanting to see what he wrote or adding her own views on things. Perhaps at some point another Harper’s view would be nice to have but for the time being, Valerian was happy to do the narrative solo.
“I was on the isle for a sevenday, with another Northerner. So my time there was as boring as I suspect it’s meant to be but I still had company while sitting in silence,” for a man that didn’t actively seek out companionship, Valerian couldn’t help but notice how he had already collected two people he didn’t mind being around so soon after starting his new life. It was odd but so far he was okay with it.
