Talian turned his eyes towards B'jin as his friends, in turn, told him that he shouldn't be there. "I know it won't be pleasant," he said in a sad, broken voice. "But he was there for me the other night. I'm sure it wasn't pleasant for him. I owe it to him to be here," he said. He'd come wearing his knots and with his headband hanging loosely around his neck. He was ready to rush to B'jin's aid if the poor greenrider was really hurt.
"This is disgusting," he said softly. A quick survey of the area revealed plenty of their fellow candidates in attendance. He imagined the leadership would want them there; a warning in case anyone else tried to start trouble. He slid closer to Erisi as the thought crossed his mind, almost in a protective gesture. Tal was normally far too submissive and timid to be even vaguely protective, but recent events had provoked a bit of flame in the healer. He was determined to hang on to Eri and Val and never, ever let go.
He nodded slowly at Val's comment concerning Larri. The poor dragon would undoubtedly suffer just as much as B'jin. Tal legitimately pitied her. "I think the leaders' dragons can control her somehow, so she won't try to intervene," he said with distaste. He wasn't sure how it worked.
He slowly looked to Eri again. "Thanks for coming..." he said, though he imagined one of them would have followed him out here either way. They hadn't been keen on leaving him alone...with good reason.
