"I'm about to show you," he replied. He climbed up after her, carefully positioning himself behind and reaching down for Ronarth's straps. "Dragons are very conscious of people on their back. He will do his best not to drop you...but this will make sure," he said. He spent a few moments strapping her in. "Now, you need to hold on to this part. All right? It'll be hard to talk once we get up there, since the air will be rushing. If you get scared, Ronarth will sense it and we'll come down."
He smirked. "Are you ready?"
Ah, he could remember his first time riding a dragon. It was magical. He wished it could be more like that for these new kids, so many of whom were depressed and offended at their presence at Katila.
This one does not feel so bad Ronarth said, more sagely than normal. Then, without further comment, he took off.
The bronze lurched into the air, his wings fanning out to catch his weight as he shot upwards. The air rushed past the humans on his back, warm and humid. D'ren smiled, watching as the stars grew closer with each wingstroke...
