V’ler didn’t really consider himself a keeper, like R’nya with his Golden Girls, and didn’t think his friends had to ever check in with him before they did anything. It was why he never questioned Indivara when she disappeared for hours at a time or slinked back to his room at night looking either for cuddles or just what had become her half of the bed when she was in a bad mood. It didn’t concern him so he stayed out of it. Her new habit hadn’t even piqued his curiosity until it went on long enough.
Indivara wasn’t really the type to sneak off to be with a secret lover, though it was a possibility given how she loved the way everyone believed she was mated to him, but V’ler didn’t think he’d be interrupting anything when he finally decided to give in. Given the moods Indivara came back in, whatever it was that filled her day wasn’t what she hoped for and V’ler figured part of being a friend was making sure the other person was okay.
It didn’t hurt that a green that was on B’jin’s list of those to avoid was a bit proddy that morning and V’ler had no intentions of hanging around for that flight.
When they finally spotted Venseth’s pretty hide, V’ler wasn’t really sure what he expected to find. It was obvious Indivara left the Weyr but he wasn’t sure why or where she would go. He supposed he expected to find her at some secret body of water or a quiet cave filled with gems that the Holds and Halls would die to have their hands on. Seeing her overlooking a valley left him more confused than when he started but finding her was all about getting answers so it didn’t really bother him.
“Someone has to make sure you’re staying out of trouble,” V’ler replied easily to the growled question after Veeth landed. He took his time dismounting and removing his riding jacket, not at all worried about what Indivara was thinking or considering doing.
Veeth, however, gave all of his attention to the girl after greeting his friend.Hello, love! Your hair is so pretty when you wear it like that. You’re very talented. V’ler, with his back momentarily to Indivara, rolled his eyes at his dragon’s never-ending attempts to flirt with every female dragon and human he came across. Turning back around, V’ler leaned back against Veeth’s side and crossed his arms lightly over his chest as he watched the other blue pair, trying to figure out more about what was going on with Indivara.
