“I’m glad we’re in agreement,” R’nd chuckled as his definition was changed from ‘odd’ to ‘unique’ as that was something he could live with. Both essentially meant the same thing in the grand scheme of things but at least in one phrasing, it sounded like he was one of a kind and it was hard to duplicate something amazing. He flashed a grin at T’bia but didn’t say anything further, somehow managing to keep his ego in check. It was likely the soothing water’s doing.
The genuinely curious question a moment later sent R’nd’s gaze back onto T’bia as he gave a wicked grin. “I have a date,” he added, purposely being vague to play on his friend’s curious nature. He knew that answer wouldn’t be enough to satisfy T’bia and he waited several heartbeats before the grin turned into a far more innocent smile as he finally elaborated. “My dear sweet Lady Rhaedalyn asked me to go flower-picking with her this morning. Who am I to say no to such a request? Though it is beyond me why she didn’t ask R’nya or Z’ia this time.” He wasn’t normally much for the activity but R’nd was always up for doing things with friends and it had been a while since he had managed to snag some time with the young goldrider for one reason or another. Though it really did gnaw at his own curiosity as to why she was asking him when she had people that usually went with her.
There had to be something and not even the ever present gossip mill had anything concrete to go on this time. He supposed that was a tragedy of a smaller community sine there were less eyes and ears to catch all the details but on the other hand, a smaller community should have meant it was easier to hide something. All R’nd knew was that any time he saw Rhaedalyn and R’nya in the same room together the girl quickly averted her gaze from the bronzerider and excused herself soon after. The poor man probably finally said or did something that upset at least one member of the Golden Girls and now he was paying the price. It was something R’nd both admired and pitied R’nya for.
“We’ll probably grab some berries as well if there are any at this time of the season. I’ve never had much of a mind for herbalism. I just enjoy eating the treats made from them,” again R’nd laughed and finally reached for some sand soap to begin lathering up. He was enjoying the soak but he didn’t want to risk keeping Rhaedalyn waiting or to keep T’bia in the water longer than needed. The boy would likely find it rude to leave first despite arriving first so R’nd took it upon himself to guide them gently to the point of vacating the glorious little pool.
