(Tavynia), weyrbrat
Tavynia was doing her best to wait patiently for the golden egg to hatch but it was getting harder and harder with each passing egg that cracked before it. She was getting cold and wanted to crawl back into the warm bed she had stolen for the night, though a look to Ryvian left her wondering if her snuggle bunny was going to be in any mood to smile. He seemed tense when a dragonet moved towards him and almost relieved when it kept going. Or maybe it was the disappointment that had his tight shoulders dropping? It was hard to tell from across the Sands but she was certain they’d both Impress that night and be the cutest couple the Weyr had ever seen! Unless she was spending time with N’vian, and then they could hold the title. It all depended on her mood.
When the egg her attention had returned to finally showed promising signs, Tavynia stood taller and waited. She knew she shouldn’t get her hopes up so high either given the last few Hatchings but this one felt promising. She felt like there was a connection between the little gold and herself so it had to be a perfect match. When the dragonet made her appearance in a quite undignified manner with limbs and wings in every direction, Tavynia eyed her up a moment and shrugged it off. Babies were clumsy. So long as the little thing didn’t grow up like Aradissicath with her clumsy moments, it would be fine.
What wasn’t fine was the way the dragonet went right for her chosen lifemate; and it wasn’t her. Tavynia gawked at the Impression and couldn’t keep her shock and slight outrage to herself. “Seriously? She’s only a child.” Casa had Impressed? Wasn’t the girl like twelve or something? This was ridiculous! There were far better – like herself – options on the Sands! Completely blown away by the clumsy – and now that she had a better look at her, completely ugly and unworthy – dragonet’s decision, Tavynia turned on her heels and did her best not to stomp away from the eggs. She wasn’t needed around there anymore and she wasn’t too thrilled with the idea of watching a child try to deal with a dragonet either.
What was with all the young ‘brats Impressing?
