Having been stubbornly steered toward the hatching ground Vee stood among the other candidates, waiting to be allowed their chance at touching the eggs. Vee had tried to avoid going, but of course as always when there was a gold egg on the sands, her hope always won out her doubt and fear of being left standing gain.
She stood, hands clasped behind her back as B'jin gave them instruction on how to conduct themselves with and among the eggs. His warning that the eggs were fragile was a horrible reminder of the disaster from the last clutch, though all knew it was always a possibility. It was still never anything anyone wanted to see.
When Okalinath moved toward the gold egg, Vee had thought she meant to ensure none of them hurt her, however Vee was slightly amused to see that she was testing the egg herself, tapping at it, and even rolling it. Regardless of the fact her comment seemed a bit crude, Vee couldn't help but feel amused. Did that make her a horrible person? Probably so, but she liked Okalinath as much as one could without really knowing her. Vee still remembered her antics from her first clutch, she seemed different this time, but still feisty.
After the show of the egg not being brittle or damaged by dragon claws, she glanced at the other girls. Normally she hung back and let the other girls go ahead of her. However today for whatever reason she stepped forward first. She wasn't trying to be bold, she was simply the first one to move, considering she was no longer concerned the egg would break.
She stopped before the egg, her eyes trailing over it slowly. It was a very pretty egg, as far as eggs were concerned, and it made her wonder what the dragon inside would look like. Would be be a pale gold like her shell? Likely not, but it would be pretty to see anyway. She reached out her hand slowly as she always did, glancing up at Okalinath before gentle laying her palm on the shell. Dragon claws or not, she wasn't about to be anything more than gentle if she could help it. "Hello in there.", she said softly. She wasn't sure what else to say, and wasn't certain if she should say more. She did however, open herself up as much as possibly to hope, and waited a moment or so to see if she would receive any response from the dragonette inside.
[Silence is Golden of course! xD]
