Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! Ryvian was having a serious case of regret. Why did he have to sign up for the current clutch? He had finally accepted some time ago that Nyvian had Impressed but was still his brother and they were different people. He didn’t need to rely on his brother and he had his own life. That wasn’t the problem though. The problem was that they had both Stood and failed over and over together; until one Impressed. He had been left behind but it also pointed out that he was the failure twin and dragonets of any colour didn’t want him. Even the green that eyed him up hadn’t wanted him. It was a good kick in the ass by reality and Ryvian had been happy to listen and never step onto the Sands again.
He managed to keep to that decision for the last clutch despite Indivara asking him to Stand with her sometime. She had been pregnant – or recently given birth, it was hard to keep track of days sometimes – so she hadn’t Stood and Ryvian hadn’t bothered to get out of bed either. This time, she had convinced him to try again, even with what had happened to her at the last Hatching with the golden egg and its contents that he was thankful he hadn’t seen. Reluctantly he had signed up and now he had to follow through. Indivara wouldn’t speak to him if he didn’t do this. Still, bed was far more comfortable than standing out in the rain would be and he hadn’t moved yet.
It was only when Tavynia let herself into his hut singing out his name she had decided sounded cute as Ryvvie since he liked calling her Tavvy, that Ryvian made any movement. Some persuasive kisses and unspoken promises of more to come later got him out of bed and even dressed before Ryvian gave in completely and followed her out the door.
They arrived at the Sands hand in hand though as soon as the eggs were spotted, Tavynia skipped off on her own to Stand closer to the golden egg he knew she was convinced would be for her. Ryvian sighed, nodded a greeting with a forced smile at B’jin and stood off to the side of the gathering group. He knew them all but he felt like an outsider. Most were either Stolen that were older than him or ‘brats that were much younger. He suddenly really missed Nyvian at his side in that moment and contemplated leaving before B’jin could officially start the tradition Ryvian no longer believed in.
