"Yes, you definitely are,' O'wain agreed with Z'jan's statement of fact, grinning away. He definitely liked to see the smile tugging at the younger man's lips and the feel of his hand against his chest. There was no pushing so O'wain knew it was a caress and not a request to keep his distance.
He tilted his head slightly when he noticed Z'jan get a startled look on his face after pausing mid sentence. O'wain was around dragonriders since he was young enough to stand and he knew what it looked like when a man was talking to his dragon telepathically. Z'jan's next words definitely caught O'wain's attention.
"Shit, meant to move that away from the fire." O'wain was torn between skipping lunch and going straight for dessert. Turning, he looked back towards the fire and could see it was burning quite hot and the leaves wrapping his meal was definitely burning. Before he could say anything he heard Z'jan's stomach growl. Well that decided it.
"Humph, looks like we best attend dinner and resume this fun after we eat." O'wain stood up and reluctantly let go of Z'jan before headed towards the fire. "It may only be burning on the outside, but I best check."
Once he reached the fire, O'wain grabbed the long stick he fund for just that purpose, and poked the wrapped meat so it was out of the immediate heat of the flames. A quick inspection revealed it was mostly the leaf that was burning, the meat inside cooking well enough. He poked some more in the fire, pushing the hottest coals aside so the meat won't cook too fast and get tough. Once he was satisfied he turned to regard Z'jan.
"Well, it's not completely cooked, but the game we started earlier is one best saved till after we eat, this way, we have plenty of time." O'wain rose and brushed the sand off his legs then realized till he was better off just going back into the water for now.
