Shanith let R'nya by, shrinking further into Olemuth to do so. B'run's lashing was hurting R'ana worse than her own. R'ana was shaking as she forced ehrself to watch. Bear witness.
It was destroying her to watch him brought low like this, to see S'kef hurting him and to know she was too weak to charge him to try and do something, anything to help. Three lashes in and a touch turned her from the sight. Shanith's move to keep her from watching was unnoticed until R'ana fought for a bare instant, then obeyed.
She shook her head, she couldn't breathe it hurt to breathe when everything hurt so damn much. She did so though, and the pain sharpened as she did, then shattered, enough so to let her think a bit. She wasn't feeling her own pain yet, too panicked over B'run's lashing.
Eyes dilated, she met R'nya's and gripped him back. She used his guidance, humiliated at needing it. But in the end, when the last lash fell and S'kef spoke, R'ana was herself, then pain and panic locked in a ball of spikes in her chest.
When Tyrrisath moved, R'ana strode forward, putting herself between B'run and the brown. Only when she realized he would just glare at B'run did she turn and gently wrap her arms around him, making sure to keep her grip low enough that he wouldn't hurt from the hug.
R'ana held him for a long moment, then murmured, "I can. Mine's fairly close." Her voice was steady, too steady. Shock was beginning to set in...they needed to find shelter, and help. Fast. She looked at him. "Can you?" She shifted so he could lean on her and tried her best to get them moving towards her hut. It was going to be a long long night.
