Everyone seemed so confused! She had only wanted to come try her hand at pies again! Instead she was trapped in a conversation that wasn’t making any sense and it seemed like Kahleena was going to cry at any moment and Oahvakeen was so insistent on learning about everything and she was a horrible teacher! She had to try though since that was the polite thing to do and she didn’t want to get in trouble for being unkind or unwilling to do her share of the work. She was brought to Katila to possibly Impress a gold dragon – which she was failing miserably at – and to do tasks she was trained in. “I… well… everything has to be done in a certain order no matter what the craft is, right? You don’t put the buttons on the fabric before it’s become a shirt or pants, right? And the glass-smiths have to start with sand to even get the right material. Baking and cooking is no different. Everything has to be prepared before they can be combined with something else.” A fierce blush crept over her cheeks and Rhaedalyn quickly looked down at the floor, embarrassed over how much she had said and how poorly it had been explained.
Okalinath’s previous statement about a mate didn’t help ease the crimson look Rhaedalyn now sported as she thought about who the boy was with and picturing Oahvakeen trying to impress him or her with cooking. It was a sweet gesture, until Rhaedalyn realized her instructions might not be clear enough and Oahvakeen could end up poisoning his loved one. That would be truly horrible! She should try explaining again or suggesting someone with far more skills than she had to show him some simple but delicious meals yet she ended up blurting out another thought instead. “Who’s your mate that you want to cook for?” Absolutely mortified at herself, Rhaedalyn spun around to stare at the table, hands clasped over her big mouth. She loved gossip but even that was a bit too rude and nosy!
