The joy of her dragon pounded and thumped against her consciousness with all the force and glee of a small child pounding a drum.
R'ana reached for her flask, the barks she had added to the tea enough to dull the headache she knew would be form after this.
Thankfully, the children were used to being knocked around by an over excited dragon. Shanith took a bit of care for the children, R'ana's caution tempering her sheer joy ever so slightly.
It meant she wouldn't actually trample any children, her eyes whirling a fast, excited pink. She bugled happily, drawing more curious eyes and joiners into the game.
She watched her dragon trying to imitate Grith's trick of bouncing the ball on her nose, hit herself in eye and squeal a bit at the shock. She shook it off instantly, nosing the fallen ball into the air and at someone.
R'ana pulled herself back to the conversation with Par'a. She spoke her answer lightly. "I should, I tend to make extras. Shanith's generous and absentminded, so she's always destroying, giving away or simply mislaying her balls." She dodged an out of control ball, and fell over.
She scrambled back up in an undignified heap of limbs, blushing. "About two hours, maybe a little less. I'll pull her earlier if I can." She looked around her for the ball, hoping it hadn't hit Par'a.
As she did, she saw a bit of paperwork with the weyr's seal on it. Head tilted, she debated going to grab it.
She was distracted by a bit of motion, seeing someone slipping into the crowd. She stilled, not placing the person immediately, then realizing it was one of those twins...the Vians.
He grabbed Indivara and danced back, greeting her and Par'a. She waved back, caught a ball that Shanith tossed to her and tossed it to him. "Catch!"
Shanith reared up then to catch a ball, wings flaring as she left the ground a moment. She hovered a bare second and landed. She used a wing to toss it to a weyrbrat, then nabbed another ball, tossing it at Grith.
Shanith let out happy, loud but happy, noises, R'ana tossing her head back to laugh with her dragon's joy. She let go then, a grin playing around her lips, Shanith whirling in a circle and her tail swatting a ball Indivara and Ryvian's way.
