A'liran wanted to keep the conversation on track, he really did. It was too funny to see B'jin blush and overreact to gossip that everyone already knew. It was cute to see him all defensive and evasive, but as much as Ali wanted to keep poking the fire, he could tell he was hitting the limit. He knew B'jin was riotously funny, but he also knew he was on the fragile side, and the last thing Ali wanted was to actually upset him. He did smirk once more and quirk his brows, but a brief and well-timed intervention from Astoreth was enough to deter him.
I guess I'll give the poor fuck a break he thought with amusement. How kind of you Astoreth said lightly, a hint of similar amusement lingering in her own voice.
Of course, the topic of weyrlings wasn't very exciting. A'liran frowned slowly and crossed his arms. "You warn the little greens about their maiden flights yet? You're smart, I'm sure you have..." he said, grumbling a bit as he thought about his own first flight. Now that had been terrible. Terrible His brows furrowed. He wouldn't be a very good weyrling master...he would sit and stress for his kids' safety going into that particularly terrible phase of development. He would also possibly punch some flight suitors.
"Which one do you think will go first? And who do you think will chase?"
