D'ren's attitude softened when he sat Nejerc's improved reaction. Already the young man was more at ease around Ronarth, whose clumsy and invasive ways often intimidated even other riders. D'ren couldn't help but smile as he saw the young man's hand brush across the dragon's muzzle, a gesture which the dragon replied to with the deepest of approving croons.
"Aah...easy there, boy," D'ren said, reaching out to mimic the gesture. Ronarth purred, settling neatly onto his stomach and allowing the two to stroke him. His eyes flushed deep blue, and sensing the renewed confidence of his rider, he pushed his snout towards Nejerc again. The dragon licked lightly at Nejerc's hand while D'ren watched, cautious but much more approving now that Ronarth had been accepted by his intended companion.
"He sure loves attention," D'ren said softly, unable to keep the happiness out of his voice no matter how serious he attempted to be. Ronarth was exceedingly happy. He always was after receiving the affection of someone else. D'ren wasn't jealous, though. After all, he loved Ronarth unconditionally and would always coddle him. D'ren had to, as Ronarth pointed out. If someone else coddled the gentle bronze, though, it really made his day.
"He likes being rubbed under his chin," D'ren offered lightly, sliding his own hand under the dragon's jaw in demonstration.
