His oddly worded invitation had barely left his lips before green eyes recognized the Talian-shaped figure on the bed in the darkened room that only had the light of the hall coming in. He had indeed interrupted his friend but Valerian hadn’t been expecting… well, that. This was Talian though Valerian wasn’t sure if that made the scene more logical or not. Either way, as his friend turned around, Valerian shifted his gaze to look anywhere else out of courtesy and any quick and witty reply was ignored. If it was anyone else he walked in on, Valerian wouldn’t have wasted a moment in pointing out any numerous details but Talian was different.
Unfortunately, that meant the awkward silence seemed much more stifling. Valerian did his best to ignore it, focusing on his hand he still held extended and finally lowering it. Is everything okay? You seem a little off. Veeth’s sweet voice brushed softly against Valerian’s mind, his concern quite evident along with a good dose of curiosity. The Harper could tell his dragonet would trot on over to see what was going on which wouldn’t help the situation at all. “I’m fine,” he found himself answering dragon and friend at the same time which caused a smirk of amusement to appear. “I’m not that accident prone.” Just because he seemed to get some sort of injury the first time he was assigned a new chore didn’t mean he was constantly tripping or running into objects.
“I could continue to be mysterious while hoping your trust in me has you blindly accepting everything I say but I’m not sure how far it will get us within an acceptable timeframe.” In fact, Valerian wasn’t sure he should ask Talian to come out with him at all, wondering if he should leave his friend to his own devices once more. Then again, they’d never get around to spending time together again if they continued to let one thing after another stop them. Once more, Valerian held out his hand for Talian, “I want to steal you away for a little while because I miss my friend.”
