The bronzerider shrugged. "I have no idea. That's your problem," he said with a firm shake of his head. "Talk to him. If that doesn't work, I don't know. Be creative if you have to. Get him drunk, find him a girlfriend, I really don't care." He paused, a frown pulling at the corners of his lips. If this kid was a master, honorary or not, he was probably pretty useful. The last thing D'ren needed was someone like that showing up, not Impressing a dragon, then committing suicide.
After a moment of hesitant silence, he reached over to clap B'jin on the shoulder. "We'll figure it out. I know you enjoy the search - Once this is worked out, I'm sure we'll get you back out there," he said. Part of him just couldn't stand to be mean. This was the closest as apologizing as he could come. He couldn't exactly apologize for doing his job, or for punishing such a grave error. The situation was just..unfortunate. At least now it wasn't likely to happen again.
He shifted his weight uncomfortably and crossed his arms again. "I'll see about sending someone back for that other girl," he said, trying to think if there were any other loose ends to tie up in this whole mess. "Are you sure that kid doesn't have a family? I'm sure any parents would be proud to have a twenty-sharding-three turn old master healer running around," he said. He was just worrying now, though. In the back of his mind, he still trusted most of B'jin's assessments...but D'ren was a worrier, and this was a situation worth worrying over.
"Either way, it's done now. I initially thought we should try to plant some evidenced that he was murdered or got lost or something, but in the end it's probably best to just leave it. If he's as withdrawn as you say, well...sometimes people like that just wander off, or worse. I'm sure people's imaginations will fill in the blanks, and it will involve jealous classmates and spiteful family members, not extinct dragons," he said with a nod, though he still looked like he wanted to be sick. "Hopefully we can get him to adapt. Plenty of the others have their baggage as well, after all. And I'm sure he'll be a nice addition, skill wise."
What a day. He stretched a bit, then started to walk out. "...I'm going to get a drink. You're dismissed, B'jin. Come talk to me again in a sevenday and let me know how things are going."
