V’ler had long ago given up on the idea that he would ever have a quiet moment again. Even before Indivara started stealing his bed and they officially shared a weyr when the move North happened, but he did find it happened a lot more with her around given her tendency to collect friends. Since the surgery that saved both her life and that of their second child, V’ler was convinced there was a sign outside that invited everyone to pop in at least once a day. Not that he ever complained about it. He was glad she had friends and it was a rather peculiar emotion he always felt when he saw people care so much about Indivara. Such casual friendships filled with jokes, snark, and eye rolls still held a deep concern and affection.
When Z’rin arrived, he was content to greet his fellow bluerider and then go about his own business again as one of those friendships filled with jokes and snark had their bonding moment but Indivara didn’t leave his lap and invited the man to join him at his desk. When the flowers came out, he gave them a brief once over and was again going to leave well enough alone but then Z’rin brought out chocolates and won Indivara’s affection and skill in lap warming.
He snorted and rolled his eyes at her teasing about who really loved her, knowing it was a jab and that he didn’t have anything to actually worry about. “Don’t tell R’vi all he needed was flowers and chocolates,” he shot back with a small smile and then turned his attention back to his writings. He didn’t mind Z’rin but he was there to visit Indivara so he turned to tuning them out.
