Lips parted to protest I'shan's insistence that he could help create a relationship with B'jin for him but R'nd quickly halted the word. It wouldn't do to use his friend's nickname when N'gelt still didn't look completely convinced that the dinner and any interaction they shared was on the innocent side. It was pretty understandable given the two blueriders in question so R'nd couldn't really blame the man. But he could focus his shock and dismay at I'shan! "I'shan! Eager eyes, yes, and those who have tumbled with him couldn't blame me for that either. But you know I'm not the sort to settle down with someone and I really don't think the relationship you have forming in your dream world would happen." He pouted then, not entirely meaning to since it would no doubt show to I'shan that he was sad about not being mated to B'jin. The pout was more for the belief that B'jin likely didn't even know who he was and the parting kiss was done more in a dream-like state than insinuating they should hook up again sometime.
He really needed to stop acting like a sixteen turn old girl. Maybe he could get Kerrin to try beating some sense into him since the brat seemed to like that attempt before.
As N'gelt moved towards him and the table, R'nd tensed in just the barest of movement, his wandering thoughts focused once more in case the brownrider suddenly struck out at him. He once more relaxed and took up his fork to continue eating and to further show how comfortable he was despite the negative energy that radiated from the man.
He was typically known for keeping his cool and making fairly rational decisions but R'nd couldn't deny he had a devious streak and liked to lightly stir the pot of trouble at times. This suddenly felt like one of those times. I'shan had already mentioned the flight but the discussion was dropped quickly, except for playing matchmaker, and R'nd wanted to see more of this man's temper and interest in I'shan before completing his evaluation. "So I'shan was simply glowing as he spoke about you and how you met. I suppose it's a good thing you found yourself losing to Ayyonth and me that flight. It'd be a terrible thing to have won and never crossed paths with him." He was purposely prodding a drunk man's ego but R'nd was certain he had done more idiotic things in the past and came out of it fine.
He tried to give an apologetic look to I'shan but it ended up coming out as a mischievous grin.
